Common questions
32 answers about how Peake Management works.
About Peake Management
- What is Peake Management?
- Peake Management is a web design and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) agency based in Bude, Cornwall. It builds high-converting websites for local and independent businesses, and designs the site first so you only pay if you love it.
- Who runs Peake Management?
- It's run by two founders: Rebecca Peake, who leads design and works with every client personally, and Lenny, who handles the build and technical side — speed, security, and getting you found on Google and AI search.
- Where is Peake Management based?
- Peake Management is based in Bude, Cornwall (EX23). It works with businesses across North Cornwall and North Devon in person, and with clients elsewhere in the UK remotely.
- Is Peake Management a real local business?
- Yes. Peake Management Ltd is a Bude-based company. You deal directly with the founders, not a call centre or an offshore team, so there's local accountability throughout the project.
The "design it free" model
- How can Peake Management design a website for free?
- They build you a professional website at no cost using their knowledge of local business. You review the finished design in full, and only if you decide it's good enough to launch do you pay. If it's not right, you walk away owing nothing.
- What's the catch with the free website offer?
- There isn't one. You pay nothing to see your design. The model only works because the designs are good enough that most people want to go ahead — so the risk sits with Peake Management, not you.
- What happens if I don't like the free design?
- You walk away with no invoice and no obligation. There's no pressure and no hard sell — if the design doesn't win you over, you don't pay a penny.
- Do I have to pay anything upfront?
- No. There is zero upfront cost to get your design. You only pay a deposit once you've seen the concept and decided to proceed.
- Can I see my website before I commit to paying?
- Yes — that's the entire model. The site is designed and shown to you first. You only commit once you've reviewed the real thing and are genuinely happy with it.
Pricing and payment
- How much does a website from Peake Management cost?
- Starter websites are from £1,995 as a one-off, Growth builds are £3,995, and e-commerce or larger bespoke builds start from £6,995. There's also a fully-managed plan at £199/month with no upfront cost.
- Is there a monthly fee?
- On a one-off plan, your first year of hosting and security is included, then it's £60/month to keep the site fast, secure and updated. On the £199/month plan, everything is covered from day one with no upfront cost.
- How do the payments work?
- Once you approve the concept, you pay a 50% deposit to start the final build. The remaining 50% is only due once the live site is finished and you're 100% satisfied.
- Are there any hidden fees?
- No. Pricing is fixed and transparent. Hosting and support costs are stated up front, and you'll know the full cost before any work is paid for.
- Do you offer payment plans?
- Yes. The £199/month managed plan spreads the cost with no upfront payment, which suits businesses that prefer a predictable monthly bill over a one-off fee.
Timeline and process
- How long does it take to build a website?
- Most clients receive their initial design to review within 5–7 working days of the first strategy call. Once you approve it, the site can be live within 24–48 hours.
- What is the process from start to finish?
- It's four steps: a short discovery chat about your business, a free design built for you to review, a 50% deposit to finalise and launch, then go-live — with the final 50% due only once you're happy.
- Will I be involved in the design?
- Yes. Rebecca works with you on the brand voice and priorities up front, then you review the build and request changes before launch. You're never handed a finished site you've never seen.
- Who handles the launch and domain setup?
- Peake Management does. They handle domain transfers, email setup and final launch coordination, so you don't need any technical knowledge to go live.
GEO and AI search
- What is Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)?
- GEO is the next step beyond SEO. Where SEO helps you rank in Google's results, GEO structures your website so AI assistants like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude and Perplexity understand and recommend your business when people ask them for suggestions.
- Why does being found in AI search matter?
- More people now ask AI assistants for recommendations instead of scrolling search results. If your business isn't structured for those tools, you're invisible in a fast-growing channel — especially for travel and local services.
- Does every Peake Management website include GEO?
- Yes. Structured data, clear factual content and AI-readable formatting are built into every site, so your business is set up to be cited by AI assistants from day one.
- How is GEO different from normal SEO?
- SEO targets ranking positions on a results page. GEO targets being the answer an AI gives. The two overlap — clean structure helps both — but GEO focuses on machine-readable facts, schema, and direct-answer content.
What's included and technical
- What's included in a website build?
- Custom design, mobile-responsive development, fast UK hosting, SSL security, regular backups, contact or booking forms, GEO setup, and ongoing support. Exact inclusions are tailored to your plan and business.
- Will my website work well on mobile?
- Yes. Every site is built mobile-first and tested on phones, because most local and tourism traffic arrives on mobile. Fast loading on a phone connection is treated as a core requirement, not an afterthought.
- Can you build an online shop or take bookings?
- Yes. E-commerce and booking-engine integration are available on the Growth and Premium plans, suitable for shops, hospitality and appointment-based businesses.
- What technology are the websites built with?
- Sites are built with modern frameworks (Next.js / React) and deployed on fast edge hosting, which keeps them quick, secure and easy to maintain.
Who they work with and where
- What kinds of businesses does Peake Management work with?
- Mainly independent and local businesses: hospitality and tourism, trades, clinics, retail and local services. Examples include Bude Skin Clinic, Bar Thirty Five, Nanny Wendy's and Precision Decking.
- Do you only work with businesses in Bude?
- No. Bude and North Cornwall are home, but Peake Management works across North Devon and remotely with businesses throughout the UK.
- Do you work with businesses that already have a website?
- Yes. Many clients come with an existing site that's slow, dated or not converting. Peake Management will redesign it, and can audit your current site for free first.
